Oakley Storage Facility Catches Fire

by ECT

An Oakley storage facility on Main Street caught fire Monday night around 9:53 pm requiring both the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Contra Costa Fire Protection District to respond to the blaze. Luckily, the facilities sprinkler system kicked in and prevented a spread to additional storage units. That being said, crews remained on scene for 2 hours and 25 minutes as a precaution and required a lot of mop up detail by cleaning out effected storage units.

The incident occurred at Public Storage on Main Street and Live Oak where it appears to have started as an electrical fire. The incident required five engines and had 3-chief officers on scene.  Here are some photographs of the incident.

Great shots and looks like it was not my unit which is always a good thing. I want to know why I’ve not read this anywhere else?

If that’s a newer build, there’s a whole row of people looking at a lot of wet belongings.

An instance where sprinkler systems are not your friend.
