Oakley Receives Grant to Evaluate Traffic Flow Near Schools

by ECT

The City of Oakley applied for and has received an SR2S Technical Assistance Grant by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority of $15,000. This grant is for municipalities to use for evaluating and identifying solutions to address traffic flow and pedestrian safety concerns around school sites.

As part of this grant program, City staff will work collaboratively with the transportation consultant selected by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority to analyze and evaluate traffic flow problems and prepare designs that go towards addressing the traffic problems faced at each site.

This task will include evaluations of traffic flows and pedestrian safety at: Orchard Park School (Live Oak Avenue) and Vintage Parkway School (Vintage Parkway). The work on this project is anticipated to begin in May 2015 and be concluded by September 2015.
