Oakley Police Nab Suspect Who Crashes Stolen Vehicle After Pursuit

At approximately 3:30 pm Friday, the Oakley Police Department observed a male driver who was driving erratically in a stolen vehicle within city limits.

Officers gave pursuit into the City of Antioch where the driver, who had stolen the truck from an employee at Sutter Delta Hospital, took the stolen truck onto a dirt road where he was driving and struck a cement barrier.

After the crash, the male foot bailed and made his way to Yellowstone Drive in the City of Antioch where he attempted to first get a ride from people in the area. Antioch Dispatch reported several people had called reporting a male who had matched Oakley Police description was then trying to get into a home.

Officers arrived on scene and took the male into custody at gunpoint without incident.

According to officers on scene, the male suspect had been involved in a vehicle pursuit last Saturday with Contra Costa County Sheriff Deputies last week in Bay Point. The same suspect was in a pursuit with Oakley Police several days ago before today’s incident.  Antioch Police, Pittsburg Police and Contra Costa County Sheriff Deputies assistant in the pursuit.

The male was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. No other information was made available.
