Oakley Police Nab Armed Robbery Suspect

The Oakley Police Department announced that at 7:30 am on Wednesday, they located the vehicle involved in an armed robbery on Tuesday near Iron House Elementary School.

Police say the vehicle was found at a residence in the 23000 block of Marsh Creek Rd. While at the location, Detectives located Suspect Michael Sanchez a 42-year old male. Sanchez was in possession of a knife and property taken from the robbery.

Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Main Jail for Armed Robbery, Grand Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.

On Tuesday, May 30th 2017 at 7:50am, Oakley Police Officers responded to a reported hit and run in front of Iron House Elementary School. When Officers arrived, they discovered the subject who lived in the neighborhood had his car parked in front of his house, the victims trunk was open with personal property inside the trunk. The victim walked away from his car for a minute leaving the trunk open. A suspect inside a gold GMC Suburban (California plate 4CLW118) took items from the trunk and fled in the vehicle. The victim located the suspect vehicle a short distance away, in front of the school. The victim used his vehicle to block the suspect vehicle, in traffic. The victim recovered his property from inside the suspect vehicle. When the victim recovered his property, one of the suspects threatened the victim with a knife. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. Oakley PD is currently searching for the gold Suburban for Armed Robbery. A picture of the vehicle is provided.
