Oakley Police Investigating Friday Night Shooting

Press Release

by ECT

Friday night at 10:38PM Oakley Police officers were called to 1171 Grapevine Lane for the report of a male teenager guest being shot in the area of his left hip with a .22 caliber rifle during an argument with a 15 year old male resident of the home.

Oakley officers arrived and facilitated the evacuation of the victim, a witness and the elderly parents of the suspect from the home. The Oakley Police Department requested resources in the form of: additional officers, a canine team, and drones from the Sheriff’s Office, Antioch PD, Brentwood PD and Pittsburg PD.

A majority of the house was searched with the drones and then the house was searched with a greater degree of detail using a team of Oakley officers and allied agencies. The .22 caliber rifle used in the assault was found in the house but it was discovered the suspect had fled from the house at some point prior to getting all of the necessary law enforcement resources in place.

The suspect is described as a white 15 year old male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black hat, red sweatpants and having long dirty blonde hair.

It is believed the suspect is no longer armed and this conflict was not a random encounter so we do not believe the Oakley community is at risk.

If anybody has information related to this shooting please call the Oakley Police Department at 925-625-8060
