Oakley Police Investigate Friday Afternoon Stabbing

At 12:15 pm Friday, Oakley Police responded to a report of a man bleeding at the 1700 block of Chianti Way.

According to police, the subject left Chianti Way and was later located two miles away on 2nd Street and Ruby where officers performed first aid to the subject. He was then transported via medical helicopter to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek. The helicopter landed at O’Hara Park Middle School.

On Chianti, blood was visible on the driveway of the home, the sidewalk and the middle of the street. The origin of the incident may have occurred inside the garage of the home.

According to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, they responded to a report of a victim in his 30’s being stabbed multiple times after an altercation.

The Oakley Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. No further information is being provided at this time.

At about 1215 PM, Oakley police officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance on the 1700 block of Chianti Way regarding someone who was bleeding. While responding officers were told the subject involved was leaving the location in a vehicle. The subject was later located at a home about two miles away. Officers rendered first aid to the subject, who was taken by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The Oakley Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. No further information at this time. 

Note: The Oakley Police Department are currently calling this a “suspicious circumstance” versus a “stabbing”.  Due to limited engines available in ECCFPD, Engine 88 of Antioch assisted Engine 93 with the helicopter spot.
