On Sunday, September 26th an Oakley Police Officer was dispatched to a report of a suspicious person who was slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle near the intersection of Gamay Drive and Tawny Court.
The officer located the vehicle and found a 20-year-old Oakley resident still slumped behind the wheel of the running vehicle. Further investigation lead to the detention of the suspect for being under the influence of illegal drugs.
The officer investigated even further and discovered the suspect was in possession of thousands of pills that are classified as being in the drug family of benzodiazepine (a drug that is classified as a depressant) and nearly 100 pills that are classified as being in the drug family of amphetamine (a drug that is classified as a stimulant).
These thousands of pills were packaged in such a way that suggests they were going to be illegally sold. The suspect was not cooperative with the officer during the investigation and he was ultimately booked into the Martinez Detention facility for several illegal drug charges.
