Oakley Police Catch Hit and Run Suspect After Short Pursuit

by ECT

Just before 9:00 am Tuesday, Oakley Police responded to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash with a suspect who fled the scene.

The incident occurred at Main Street and Norcross when police located the vehicle leaving the scene. The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over for police and led them on a short pursuit across town before coming to a stop at Oakley Road and Kelsey Lane.

Once pulled over, the suspect refused to cooperate with police and began resisting arrest and fighting with police before being taken into custody.

According to Oakley Police, the suspect is facing several charges, but did not elaborate further–including possibly being under the influence of either alcohol or a controlled substance.

Will update if Oakley Police release any additional information.

That’s the a**hole that almost hit me head on while I was driving down Main St. He was driving so fast down the middle by Cutino Tire, and on my side of the road. I had to swerve to avoid him hitting me! Grrrrrrr
