Oakley Police Arrest Two Suspects and Recover $10k in Stolen Merchandise in Recent Burglary

The Oakley Police Department announced Thursday that officers have recovered stolen merchandise and arrested two Pittsburg residents in connection with a May 19 burglary.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Main Street regarding a burglary. Officers discovered that a forced entry into the business; disarming the alarm and stealing more than $42,000 in merchandise.

The business had no leads to provide the police.

On Tuesday, May 25th, Oakley police officers worked with the store owner to use a ruse to apprehend the suspected thieves. The two suspects (Mariano Coronado, M, 33 and Ely Coronado, F, 29; both from Pittsburg) were arrested without incident and approximately $10,000 of the stolen merchandise was recovered.

Oakley detectives continued their investigation and on Wednesday, May 26th, they were able to recover another $1,000 of merchandise from a residence in Antioch.
