At roughly 8:47 am, emergency responders responded to a vehicle accident where an SUV rear ended a bus at the intersection of Kelsey Lane and Oakley Road.
The driver of the SUV reportedly hit the bus at full speed because he had fallen asleep at the wheel after working the graveyard shift. The driver of the SUV appeared to have chest pain after the incident and required medical attention. Passengers of the bus were cleared of any injuries.
The incident required response of American Medical Response, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and the Oakley Police Department.
