A man suffered major injuries after a motorcycle versus mini-van collision on E. Cypress Road and Knightsen Avenue Tuesday night at roughly 7:24 pm in Oakley.
The incident shut down the roadway as crews worked to transport the motorcyclist to Ironhouse Elementary School where the man was airlifted by medical helicopter to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek by REACH 3.
According to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, the collision occurred when the vehicle turned out infront of the motorcyclist at the intersection. The Oakley Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
No further information about the mans condition was provided or whether or not alcohol or drugs were related to the crash.

Well we know for sure the rider was sober ….. But there has been speculation that the Driver of the van was intoxicated !!!!!!! I hope that he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law and then some !! WATCHOUT FOR MOTORCYCLES PEOPLE THEY TOO HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ON THE ROAD !!!!!!!!!!!!

Drove by before the ambulance arrived and started praying then….and asked my prayer warriors to send them up as well…hoping he, and his family, are going to be okay…
