Oakley: Man Shot, Robbed of $13k as Police Seek Person of Interest

by ECT

Oakley police are actively investigating a robbery and assault that occurred just after 9:30 am Friday.

The victim, 51 year old Oakley resident, received a ride from a friend, Jessica York, where he withdrew approximately $13,000 in cash from a local bank to purchase a car.

After withdrawing the money, York made an unexpected stop at a market on Main and Hall streets. York got out of her car and almost simultaneously, a black male armed with a handgun confronted the victim while he was seated in the passenger seat.

After a short struggle, the weapon discharged striking the victim in his upper left leg. The suspect was able to steal the money from the victim and he left in a waiting black Acura.

York came back to the car and drove the victim to Oakley Police Department where she dropped him off and left without contacting the authorities.

The victim was transported to John Muir Hospital where he was treated and released. All attempts to contact Jessica York have so far been unsuccessful and she is considered a person of interest.

York, who was described as a white female and in her earlier 20’s, was driving a Black Nissan Sentra, license plate 7WMD420. The male suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with dread locks.

Anyone with information that can assist is urged to call Sgt. Roberts at (925)382-6912 or dispatch at (925)625 8060.

Cell phone records would easily shed light on this situation. Unfortunately, somebody probably has to die in order to get them pulled. Scumbags…
