The City of Oakley announced that on Saturday, August 11th, the community is invited to participate in the Kids Fishing Derby between 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Antioch/Oakley Pier off Bridgehead Road.
This is a “catch and release” derby for children up to the age of 15 and no fishing license is required. Awards will be handed out in age groups from 1-5, 6-10, 11-14.
Registration is free and is available at City Hall (3231 Main Street) and at Hook, Line & Sinker or Dan’s Delta Outdoors on Main Street. Participants can also register the day of the event at the pier.
Registration is from 8:00 am to 9:00 am followed by the derby and then a fishing presentation. Following that, a free lunch is available for all.
