What is the point of this? Who cares.

The point is society has a problem with responsibility! And it manifests itself in everyday life.

Message means (1) spay or neuter your pets, (2) keep pets fenced in or inside, (3) drive slower, and (4) animal control is working their tails off to protect animals and keep roadkill off roads. Just say thank you! Hats off to Contra Costa Animal Services and Thank you!

If you have a complaint and request a citation, they must be present, yeah right.

It’s interesting to me to see how busy Animal Control services are. I had no idea.

This shows me the city of oakley and the council needs to become more involved in helping residents be more responsible. Tighten up those Ordinances and make the penalties tougher.

And remember, this is just for Oakley – 1 of the 37 cities Animal Control serves in Contra Costa County. Only 3 or so officers on per day, with one other worker picking up deads.

I find it interesting because while I love walking my dogs, I have a fear of walking them in town due to loose dogs. All three of my dogs have been attacked by loose dogs, two severely injured. 81 loose dog (or cat) calls in one month is a lot. While I agree that your dog might be dog friendly, my dogs on leashes are not happy to see your dogs approach us. A loose dog might approach but my crazy pug will get aggressive and your large dogs will end the fight. Walking your dogs should be stress relieving but some days I get home more stressed out than when we went out.
