At 3:53 am Saturday, the ECCFPD responded to a report of a residential structure fire on Bramante Court in Oakley which uncovered an illegal marijuana grow.

Upon arrival, Engine 93 arrived to find a two-story home with light smoke inside and fire burning on the side of the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented extensions further into the home.

No occupants were inside the home at the time of the fire which required 17-firefighters to respond.

PG&E was requested to terminate electrical service to the house before the fire could be extinguished as the home had been modified to support an illegal grow operation. According to ECCFPD, electrical utility service had been jumped prior to the meter on the inside of the garage.

The home was filled with light smoke and burned the inside of the wall at the electrical service. The probable cause of the fire was determined to be an illegal marijuana grow with utility theft.

Marijuana Grow Operation

Oakley Police Officers responded to a residential fire on Sunday at about 4 AM on Bramante Ct. Firefighters extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries.

It was discovered that the house was being used to grow marijuana. In all, there were approximately 1,000 plants worth about $500,000 inside the residence. No residents were home at the time. The suspects also apparently tampered with the utility box in the garage, which is where the fire may have started. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Detectives at (925) 313-2600. For any tips, please call (866) 846-3592 to leave an anonymous voice message or email: [email protected].

They continue the Eastward move RJB. But Oakley has had gangs and stuff since the 60’s so this isn’t a surprise.
