Oakley: Former Student Makes Threat Against Students at Orchard Park

by ECT

Orchard Park Principal Didi Del Chiaro sent out a notice to parents late Friday alerting them that a former student threatened to come to the school with a weapon and do harm to students.

The school alerted the Oakley Police Department who are investigating the incident and the school says it will have extra security on site until further notice.

According to Stephanie Anello, assistant superintendent of the Antioch Unified School District, a student reported the threat to the school which was through text messages.

“After notifying the police, staff called the parent of the former student who stated that the student was not living in Oakley any longer but was living with the student’s other parent in Concord,” explained Anello. “We asked for that parent’s phone number and the number of the former student. We called the parent and he stated that the child was with him. Although we have not determined if the threat was credible, we take all threats seriously and felt that parents had the right to know this information.”

Anello stated their records show the student is no longer at Orchard Park because the student moved to Concord. No age of the student was provided.

Here is a message that went out from Principal Del Chiaro,
