At 3:30 pm Saturday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1300 block of Rutherford Lane in the City of Oakley.
While responding, units were advised of a fire between two homes with a fence and some bushes involved threatening two homes.
Engine 53 arrived on scene quickly and began fire attack and knocked down the fire quickly limiting damage to the exterior of one of the homes, a fence was destroyed and some items on the side yard.
Contra Costa County Fire also responded as the next closest unit to provide assistance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
