Oakley: Female Airlifted to Local Hospital After Rollover Crash

At 3:42 pm Friday, a female was airlifted to a local hospital after a rollover crash after being struck in the intersection of Main Street and Big Break Road which caused her truck to rollover several times.

The incident shut down the eastbound direction of Main Street as emergency crews worked the incident which involved three vehicles with 1 minor injury patient and a major injury patient.

East Contra Costa Firefighters were able to free the elderly female from her truck without extrication tools where AMR transported her to Orchard Park School where she was then airlifted by REACH to John Muir Medical Center.

Engine 52 responded from Brentwood to assist with the helicopter. The Oakley Police Department and Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office also responded.

According to several witnesses, the accident occurred by a vehicle running a red light, however, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
