Oakley Disposal Service recently included a notice with their monthly invoicing to City residents outlining recently approved garbage rates effective January 1, 2014 and announcing the new Low Income Senior Citizen Discount Program.
The Low Income Senior Citizen Discount Program offers a 15% discount on the 32 gallon rate for low income senior households. The notice included an application form for the program, outlining the eligibility requirements and providing instructions on how to apply.
Residential garbage rates will be increasing on January 1, 2014 by approximately 3.75%, reflecting the changes in the costs associated with providing garbage and recycling collection service, including fuel, labor, vehicle maintenance & replacement, disposal fees and general and administrative costs.

Great news for Oakley seniors. Every garbage company should do this to help the seniors.
It would be nice if this was on their website.
Shouldn’t this head line include the words “low income”. Most seniors don’t get a break and pay these rediculious rates just like everyone else.
I wonder if Brentwood Disposal (which covers Bethel Island) will do the same thing.
