Oakley Christmas Tree Lighting Shows off Completed Downtown

by ECT

For those brave enough to bare the 40 degree weather last night, the City of Oakley held its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting showing off how wonderful future events will be with a completed downtown and business filling into buildings.
Last night also showed off the brand new Republic of Cake Cupcake Shop which was a hit with the the jumpy and band.  They appear to be a solid addition with Black Bear Diner, La Costa, and Carpaccios. With Ace Hardware set to be completed in the near future, things are looking up for Oakley and the downtown area.
East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters were also a hit with the kids. There were a lot of red hats roaming around Downtown Oakley in the form of  “Junior Firefighters.”We have posted a video of the countdown on our Facebook Page. Looks like a great event Oakley! We could use some of that Christmas spirit in Antioch. All we have here are ghetto section 8 thugs that vandalize Christmas decorations.
