Oakley Child Falls Out of Second Story Window

by ECT

Around 4:00 pm yesterday, a 2-year old fell from a second story window from an Oakley home and was transported via helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

The incident occurred on Quail Valley Run in Oakley with the child having potential c-spine and internal injuries. Engine 193, AMR, Cal-Star, Reach Air Ambulance, Sheriff’s Department and B/C5 were all on scene.

There was also a problem on scene where the first arriving medical helicopter experienced a medical breakdown and a second medical helicopter was requested—it’s unclear by the report how long the delay this caused.

As of 7:00 am this morning, Chief Hugh Henderson did not have any additional information on this incident.

Update 7:00 am Aug 5:
I spoke with Oakley Chief Bani Kollo last night, he stated Oakley PD was on scene and this was determined to be an accident with no fowl play. This is a case of a child simply pushing through bedroom window screen and falling.

Other incidents deemed “major” included:
