A vehicle crash into a power pole has impacted power to a portion of City of Oakley residents since 11:15 pm Tuesday. As of Wednesday morning, 270 residents are still without power.

According to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, they responded to a vehicle crash at W Cypress Rd and Waterford at 11:14 pm. Crews were on scene for 90-minutes after the solo vehicle crash moved the power pole about 15-20 feet. The pole needed to be replaced.

PG&E originally reported 1,504 customers without power shortly after the crash. PG&E crews are currently on scene working to restore power and hope to have it fully restored by 8:00 am.
