Oakley: 1-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Suffering Burns from Hot Tea

At 9:30 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a child burn victim on Christy Street in the City of Oakley.

According to reports, the child was conscious and breathing after being burned by hot tea on both her chest and back covering approximately 18% of her body.

A medical helicopter was requested to the scene to transport the child to a local hospital.

Engine 53 arrived on scene and was reporting 2nd degree burns covering 10% of the child’s body. A medical helicopter was landing at the Diamond Hills Sports Club parking lot for transport.
