by ECT

The Oakley Police Department reported that on Saturday May 21st, shortly after midnight, Oakley Officers were dispatched to a shooting incident that occurred in the 100 block of Franicsco Villa Drive.

Upon arrival, Officers located one person who sustained a minor injury, presumably the result of the gunfire.

Members of the group reported they recently returned from a party. While on Francisco Villa, a dark colored vehicle approached and a subject began firing at the victims. A broadcast regarding the incident was put out to local law enforcement agencies.

An Antioch Police Officer noticed a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle description near Lowes on Lone Tree in Antioch. The Antioch Officer approached the vehicle, two subjects fled on foot and were not identified. A third subject was detained.

Oakley Police members responded to Lowes and ultimately arrested Willie Morgan, a 20 year old male from Martinez, for charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Morgan was booked at County Jail. The vehicle was seized, our detectives are attempting to recover evidence from the vehicle as of this writing.

The investigation is ongoing.
