While East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters were on another fire in Brentwood, CALFIRE, who was covering the District responded to a report of smoke in a home in the 100 block of Loren Lane in the City of Oakley.
CALFIRE responded to the call and upon investigating the recently remodeled home, located an active fire in the floor and walls of a home after the homeowner heard an explosion of some sort from the electrical box outside.
After Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews arrived, it was deemed the fire was out and no extensions occurred.
By 11:00 pm, crews were still on scene investigating. No further details were released.
Note – both CALFIRE and Contra Costa County Fire arrived on scene prior to Engine 53 due to them being at another fire.
