This morning at about 1:57 am Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of an auto versus pedestrian collision in the parking lot of the La Finca Restaurant on the 700 block of Port Chicago Highway in Bay Point.
When deputies arrived they found at least 9 victims in the parking lot. The suspect, driving a full size truck, apparently backed up at a high rate of speed into a crowd of people standing in the parking lot. The suspect also hit two other vehicles.The suspect was detained by security, prior to deputies arriving on scene.
The CHP arrived and began conducting an investigation. The case was later handed over to the Office of the Sheriff.
A total of 9 victims were transported to 4 local hospitals. One victim subsequently died after being taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
The driver has been arrested and booked into county jail on vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI charges.

Per Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office… Suspect arrested in Bay Point fatal collision is 21 year old Martin Bretado-Munoz of Bay Point.
