by ECT

At 4:57 am Saturday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a residential structure fire on W. Tregallas Rad in Antioch.

The call originally came in as a vegetation fire with exposures to a building but as the exterior of the apartment complex caught fire, it was upgraded to a 2-alarm response to ensure firefighters could rescue residents of complex.

Most of the damage occurred behind the complex where a shed was destroyed along with damage to the exterior of the complex including damage to the second story and roof.

According to Bob Atlas, Battalion Chief with Contra Costa Fire, he stated although you could see the flames from Highway 4, it was difficult to locate the fire once you were on Tregallas and access was difficult because there was a lot of items blocking fire crews.

At 1:28 pm, CONFIRE responded a second time for a small fire with smoke coming from the roof. They were able to handle with minimal units on scene.

That was my moms apartments the fire started down in the back yard but my moms apartment got the most damage in her bedroom. Now we are homeless and the red cross is only giving us and the other tenants 2 day in a motel then we have to go back pack up whatever is left of what we have and find a place to put our things and find a place to live with no money or help from owner or anyone. People that lose their home to fires that is not their fault and really get no help is a shame. So if anyone knows where we can go to get assistance so that there are not more homeless people on the streets do to someone else mindless act. We and the others would very much appreciate it. God Bless those that are keeping us in their prays we know that are still kind people out here in this world thank you

This is Antioch. The red carpet will be rolled out for you very soon. You can get a free 6 bedroom home with a pool for free. Also free food and a free Obama cell phone. I can’t believe you don’t know this. If you need assistance, you are in the land of milk and honey. Soon you will be living in luxury. Just go down to the section 8 office and get ready for a life much better than the average tax paying citizen. Geez. There’s no need for a sob story. Think of it as winning the lottery. And don’t forget free healthcare.
