Oakley CoCo Sheriff May 8

At about 3:54 PM on Thursday, Oakley Police Officers were dispatched a report of a disturbance and fight on the first block of Amador Avenue.

Officers arrived at a home finding an injured man on the ground. Officers provided life-saving measures until the fire department and an ambulance arrived. The man, a resident at the home, was later pronounced deceased at the scene. He is identified as 62-year-old Rogelio Amador. The autopsy is being conducted this morning.

Marine Patrol Deputy Sheriffs in the area saw a person who matched the description of the suspect. The man was detained and interviewed. He is identified as 38-year-old Emanuel Ramirez, also a resident of the house. Ramirez was later booked at the main jail on a murder charge. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The two are believed to be roommates. The exact motive has not been established yet and Detectives are still trying to determine why the two argued and fought.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to call the Oakley Police Department at (925) 625-8855.
