O’Hara Park Middle School Student Airlifted After Sustaining Head Injury on Playground

At 11:42 am Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a youth who was injured on the playground of O’Hara Park Middle School in the City of Oakley.

Engine 53 responded and reported an 11-year-old female juvenile who was laying down on the playground area at the school with a head injury from a fall. She struck her head on playground equipment causing the head injury.

Medical aid was provided, and the patient was transported by CALSTAR who landed at the baseball field of the school grounds and the juvenile was airlifted to children’s hospital in Oakland.

According to Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez, this appeared to be accidental.  No further details were released.
