Battling wind and rain for most of Saturday out of Big Break Marina in Oakley, Scott Hellesen and Robert Matsurra took top prize in the 2nd Event in the Dan’s Delta Outdoors Black Bass Tournament Series.
Hellesen and Matsurra efforts netted 31.87 lbs for the win with a big fish of 7.98 lbs. They earned $1,674 on the day.
Second place consisted of Phillip Dutra and Mike Andrews who caught 26.26 lbs for a total of $837 while third place finishers Mark Mello and Todd Fedderson scored 25.21 lbs for $279.
Just out of the money was Ken Schmitt and Chuck McCantney at 25.14 lbs and the team of Brian Ashworth and Brian Vieira at 24.98 lbs.
The big fish of the tournament was an 8.95 lb bass by Bob Garrigan and Bryan Roland which netted them a prize of $360.
The event added another $345 to the Tournament of Champions Main Event which now has a total prize pool of $1,020.
The seven-event series runs through October:

At each event, 80% pay back with 10% going to the Tournament of Champions. All participating anglers who register at Dan’s Delta Outdoors, 5% of their purchase will be added to the tournament of champions money when using DDO Bass Code at Register.
