Oakley, CA — Freedom High School Principal Kelly Manke released a letter Sunday saying that a Freedom High School student has died in an accident over the weekend.
Manke informed parents that Freedom High School has a Crisis Intervention Team that will be available for students, parents, and school personnel as well as grief counseling. She also advised that in the event a child is overwhelmed by sadness at home and needs additional support, the Contra Costa Crisis Center (925) 939-1916 or 800-273-Talk (255) is a valuable resource.
Although details were not released or confirmed, rumblings on social media said the fatal accident involved an ATV while another student was taken to the hospital.
No other details were made available.
