Dwayne Dalman, the Economic Development Manager for the City of Oakley, was recently selected to serve as a CALED Regional Ambassador.
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) is the premier statewide professional economic development organization dedicated to advancing its membersʹ ability to achieve excellence
in delivering economic development services to their communities and business clients.
CALEDʹs membership consists of public and private organizations and individuals involved in economic development: the business of creating and retaining jobs.
As one of three 2017 CALED Ambassadors, Dwayne will work with CALED on providing local training and networking opportunities for economic developers in California.
Specifically, Dwayne will work with his peers and other regional economic development
stakeholders to tailor CALED training to meet regional needs. ʺCALEDʹs regional training
will allow Oakley to collaborate with others in our area and leverage our individual
activities to make a greater regional difference.ʺ
CALED recently rolled out a new program for Economic Development professionals called Digital Economic Development University (Digital EDU), an innovative professional development certification program specially designed to give economic development
professionals and organizations the skills they need to compete in today’s digital age.
Dwayne completed eight Digital EDU courses over a three month period, obtaining two
certificates ‐ Certified Digital Marketer and Certified Business Developer. The goal moving
forward is to incorporate what was learned to improve Oakley’s Economic Development
website and digital presence for the Economic Development program.
