Just before 8:00 am Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from a home off Hill Avenue in the City of Oakley.
Upon further investigation, firefighters located a single story home on Butler Lane with smoke coming from inside. After forced entry, crews located a small fire and knocked it down.
The incident caused Hill Ave to be shut down at Main Street due to equipment in the roadway.
