At 7:45 pm Thursday night, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a reported vegetation fire in unincorporated Contra Costa County at Vasco Road and Camino Diablo Road.
Upon arrival, crews spotted a 3 acre fire backing up to a hill and running alongside Vasco road. Crews quickly worked to contain the fire. Smoke was being reported as being very thick according to drivers on Vasco Road while smoke could be smelt as far away as Discovery Bay.
The fire burned 10 acres and some fence line was damaged in the blaze. Crews were on scene for roughly 3 ½ hours.
