Pleasanton Police Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Tesla Model S on Saturday

The Pleasanton Police Department announced they are investigating a single-car crash involving a 2018 Tesla Model S Saturday night which occurred at 5:57 pm at Hacienda Drive and W. Las Positas.

According to police, the solo crash occurred in the intersection after the driver of the Tesla Model S appears to have lost control. The Tesla collided with a traffic signal pole and cement wall. The vehicle was on fire when officers arrived.

The vehicle appears to have only been occupied by a male driver said police in a statement.

Officers from the Pleasanton Police Department Traffic Unit responded and are continuing to investigate. The Livermore Police Department and Alameda County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with the scene.

The driver’s identity is not being released at this time. It has not been determined whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

Portions of W. Las Positas Boulevard and Stoneridge Drive were closed for several hours. Anyone with information related to the collision is encouraged to contact the Pleasanton Police Department Traffic Unit at 925-931-5100.
