I encourage you to vote Diane Burgis for County Supervisor. As a founding member, former Chairman, and current board member of the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed, I have had the distinct pleasure of working very closely with our Executive Director, Diane Burgis for the past 8 years.
I find her to be one of the hardest working, most determined individuals I have had the pleasure of knowing. Over the past 10 years the Friends of Marsh Creek has grown from a small collection of concerned citizens into one of the most successful volunteer organizations in Contra Costa County.
These successes include the construction of a fish ladder on Marsh Creek allowing migrating salmon to travel upstream of the delta to spawn, the annual East County creek cleanup which mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to clean up several tons of garbage in and around the creek, restoration of watershed habitat through the construction and maintenance of native plant gardens, and highly successful youth mentorship programs to name but a few.
None of these successes would have happened without the persistent, tenacious effort of Diane working as coordinator, facilitator and leader.
I am in awe of her ability to mobilize people into achieving ambitious goals that at first seem impossible in the face of government bureaucracy. She has continued to refine these skills as an Oakley city council member and currently as an East Bay Regional Park District Board member.
That is why I urge you to vote Diane Burgis for Contra Costa County Supervisor!

That’s all we need is another tree hugger so we can sit on Vasco stopped for an extra hour polluting the air we breath so Diane can make room for the red legged frogs. Maybe she should go out there and pick up the hoards of polluting trash that Piepho has left behind on her watch.
The only pollution I see, is one person posting the same BS under different monikers. This confused and angry individual Is alway attacking those that have done a fine job and have been supported by voters in each and every election. No wonder he doesn’t know what to do, he keeps ending up on the short end when it comes to who gets elected. Supervisor Piepho has made huge strides with Vasco and it’s safety during her watch and I’ll bet Ms. Burgis will do the same.
Steve Barr has had plenty of opportunities in his respective seats, and has done NOTHING. Fire board, NOTHING. Run for Mayor, LOST BIG TIME. City council, OVERBUILDING.
Ask yourself, where did all those cars come from that are clogging Vasco? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out they come from cities (Brentwood) which have overbuilt their infrastructure and the councilmen (Barr) that has allowed it.
DA needs to come up with a better routine. You are only pushing more and more voters to vote for Diane. I am sure she appreciates your efforts.
