Highway 4: Overturned Vehicle Crash Briefly Blocks Lanes Sunday Morning

At 7:06 am Sunday, Contra Costa County Firefighters were dispatched to a report of an overturned vehicle crash on eastbound Highway 4 near the San Marco exit.

Firefighters arrived on scene to a vehicle on its roof and reported no entrapment, however, they needed to shut the freeway down briefly to clear the crash scene. Additional resources were cancelled.

A CHP traffic break was requested due to the location of the crash and a SIGALERT issued by 7:23 am

Why are there so many crashes around the San Marcos area on I-4? Almost one everyday and why on a Sunday?
