Sacramento, CA – Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Oakley), Chair of the Accountability and Administrative Review Committee, will be conducting a Fiscal and Economic Oversight Hearing on the Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) on Wednesday, February 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the California State Capitol.

The hearing will address the risks to ratepayers and taxpayers posed by the uncertain funding structure of the BDCP. Specific topics that may be addressed include:

  • Uncertain commitments from State and Federal funding agencies;
  • Risks to water ratepayers as a result of inaccurate cost estimates;
  • The effects of the drought on water delivery and revenues;
  • Economic impacts of tunnel construction in the Delta region.

“If we are to give serious consideration to the implementation of the BDCP, it is imperative that we first address the significant concerns associated with the proposed funding structure and the unidentified sources that are expected to pay for it,” said Assemblymember Frazier.
