by ECT

The Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed will host its 6th Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service on January 18 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in both Antioch and Oakley.

You are invited to join the group as they clean up, plant, weed and mulch while learning riparian ecology while honoring Dr. King.

The sites include:

Antioch — Upper Sand Creek Basin located at 6801 Deer Valley Road: At this location, they will be planting, weeding, and cleaning up trash in the Upper Sand Creek Basin Restoration Area. Please close gates and follow signs to area.

Oakley — Creekside Park located on Creekside Way: At this location, they will be mulching, weeding, planting and cleaning up the Creekside Park Restoration area. Meet at covered meeting space

If you plan to attend, you are encouraged to wear shoes and clothes that can get muddy. Layers are good as sometimes it can start out quite cold and warm up while out working. Please bring work gloves (we will have some to share). We will supply small snacks and water. This activity helps support those needing community service.

All volunteers must have a signed waiver. Please download HERE, print, sign and bring with you. All minors need parent signatures.
