At 4:42 pm East Contra Costa Fire protection District responded to a reported vegetation fire out near Holland Track in Knightsen. Crews were unable to get a visual of the fire and ended up on the Bethel Island levee off of Sandmound Blvd
A visual could be seen from a distance of flames nearly 30-40 ft. in the air; however, it appears to be just tulles on fire. A fire boat was called, but later cancelled by the BC. Crews were working the area to establish a perimeter and ensure no one was near the fire.
Since the fire is across from Bethel Island, it appears crews will simply let it burn itself out.
