At 7:36 pm, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District crews and Oakley Police responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Sellers and Delta in Brentwood that injured three victims with one needing a medical helicopter transport.
ECCFPD crews worked to free victims who were compromised after the vehicle rolled over and landed back on its wheels. In order to get access, they had to break a window to unlock the doors. He estimates the victims were freed within minutes.
While it’s not been officially confirmed by Oakley Police, sources inform me the driver of the truck will likely face DUI charges after running a stop sign and crashing into the SUV in the intersection.
Oakley PD is currently investigating the incident and has not formally issued a statement at this time.
We will update this story when we have more information however kudos to Oakley PD, ECCFPD and Highway Patrol on working this serious incident.
Update:
Oakley PD has confirmed that the driver was arrested and will face felony DUI charges for this accident.
