Contra Costa Health Reports 5,931 Coronavirus Cases, 102 Deaths

On Tuesday, the Contra Costa Health Services reports there are now 5,931 cases of coronavirus resulting in 102 Deaths. In the past 24-hours, this is 186 new cases.

The county reported that 4,717 people have recovered. The county says they have provided 114,683 tests and 88 people are currently in the hospital. According to the county, the current testing positivity rate is at 5.3%.

Recently, Contra Costa Health amended its social distancing health order to temporarily tighten face-covering requirements and prohibit indoor gatherings where there is elevated risk of spreading the virus.

This week, the county announced it updated its mask policy where the order specifies that face coverings should be worn in businesses and in areas where people wait in line to enter businesses, and that everyone should wear a mask or face covering whenever they are within six feet of another person who is not a member of their household, except in very limited, industry-specific situations.

  1. I would love to know, with all these growing cases, how I am protected working at an indoor store in an outdoor mall. When our sister indoor stores at indoor malls are closed. I do not feel safe. This new rule should be all or nothing. Even salons now have to operate outside. So why are we open exactly?
