CHP: One Injured in Oakland Freeway Shooting

The California Highway Patrol reported that just before 10:00 am Monday, a freeway shooting occurred on eastbound I-580, near Keller Avenue and a passenger seated in the right front passenger seat of a white Infiniti four door sedan was struck by gunfire.

CHP says the victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound and was listed in critical condition. The female driving the Infiniti and two young girls traveling as passengers, ages 1 and 4, were not injured in this shooting.

The shooting appears to be targeted at this time and the suspects are being described as two masked individuals that were traveling in a white SUV hatchback. Investigators assigned to CHP – Golden Gate Division Investigative Services Unit (ISU) are actively investigating this shooting.
