According to the California Highway Patrol-Contra Costa, Sunset Road is closed between Sellers Avenue and Cummings after a hit and run traffic collision. CHP is currently investigating.
PG&E is on scene trying to restore power and clear downed power lines lying across the roadway while the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting with traffic control.
CHP is currently looking for a white Toyota pickup truck with front end damage. We do not have an estimated time for a complete roadway opening.
According to the PG&E Outage map, a total of 89 customers are impacted. The incident began at 9:09 am and power is not expected to be turned back on until after 6pm (per a 1:11 pm update)
Only local residence are being granted access at this time.
