Bay Point: 25 Cars Damaged in Car Lot Fire

The Contra Costa Fire Protection District reported that 25 cars were damaged in a fire Tuesday morning that began at a car lot in Bay Point.

The incident began at 4:30 am at 2780 WIllow Pass Road where upon arrival, firefighters reported seeing flames coming from the auction lot. Engine 86 immediately requested a full response where took around 45-minutes to put the fire out.

CONFIRE investigators, as of 10:00 am were still on scene investigating how the fire started to determine if it was from a vehicle or intentionally started.

According to Robert Marshall of CONFIRE, he said these are all vehicles that have been in accidents and declared totaled by insurance companies. They are in the lot awaiting to be sold for parts.

No further information was released.

Thank you for sharing this information, luckily there is no person to get hurt in the accident. I hope that the investigators will know the source of the fire.
