Here is a look at this weeks events going on in East Contra Costa County for the weekend of June 12 and beyond which include multiple concerts such as Friday nights Brentwood Summer Concert Series with “Forejour”. On Saturday, Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery hosts the Under Cover Girls

Brentwood LogoJune 12: Starry Nights in Brentwood Summer Concert Series
This Starry Nights in Brentwood Summer Concert will feature “Forejour”, a tribute to Foreigner and Journey! The concert will be held in City Park, located at 710 Second Street in Brentwood.  The show will begin at 7 p.m.  All patrons are asked to follow park rules before, during, and after the concerts.  No dogs, no glass containers, and no audio/video recording devices allowed.  Ample parking is available in the parking garage.

Bring your blanket, chairs, and a picnic dinner and enjoy this FREE event.

Brentwood-Farmers-MarketJune 12: Brentwood Farmers Market

The Brentwood Farmers’ Market on is open on Saturday from 8am to 12pm, Oak St. and First St.  New this year – they have expanded around the corner onto Oak St.

The season will run from March 7, 2015 to November 21, 2015.’

Oakley Movie PlazaJune 13: Oakley Movie in the Plaza
Join us tomorrow June 13th around dusk at the City Plaza amphitheater for the “Movie in the Plaza series” featuring the new Disney classic “Maleficent”. In addition, local student filmmakers with the winning entries in the Oakley Film Festival will have their films screened before the feature film starts at approximately 8:45pm.

Admission is free and there will be a snack bar with snacks available for purchase. Bring your blanket and lawn chairs to enjoy the movie under the stars.

Oakley Film FestivalJune 13: Oakley Film Festival
The City of Oakley is hosting the inaugural Oakley Film Festival, featuring short films submitted by local youth. The goal is to provide a platform for filmmakers to share their art with the community, as well as to provide the community with a positive experience viewing these films while supporting local artists.

The Festival also aims to showcase Oakley and the people who make it a wonderful and unique place to live.

Patriots Jet Fly By During Concert

The Discovery Bay Community Foundation will be hosting a FREE concert at the DB Marina on Saturday, June 13th from 5:00-8:00 PM. Our very own local band, Take 2 will play a variety of music from Rock, Country, Hip Hop, R&B and Pop.

As usual there will be great music, beer, wine and lots of food from the Boardwalk Grill so please support your community by having dinner and drinks at our concert. No coolers or outside food are allowed as all the proceeds go directly back into our schools and other great needs in Discovery Bay.

If you have little to no experience with handguns, this is the class for you. You will learn about the basic safety and responsibilities that come with owning and operating a handgun. This class teaches general safety rules, range rules, basic gun laws and transportation and storage of a firearm.

June 20: Oakley to Host Main Street Car Show

Join the City of Oakley on June 20 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Civic Center plaza for their Main Street Car Show. The car show is open to all makes and models of American and Foreign cars. Space is limited and pre-registration is required at City Hall. $25 (includes Dash Plaque and Goody Bag. The city is also accepting retail and craft vendors.

DianneCurtainJune 20: 10th Annual Celebration of Art Exhibit
The Arts & Cultural Foundation, in partnership with the Antioch Historical Society, will host the 10th Annual Celebration of Art 2015 Exhibit at the Antioch Historical Society Museum. This is a non-juried exhibit with no required theme, with up to 60+ local artists participating in the event.

The event begins on Saturday, June 20th, with an artist reception from 2-4 PM. The exhibit continues through Saturday, July 22nd. The event, artist reception and entry to the museum are free.

The Antioch Historical Society Museum is located at 1500 West 4th Street, Antioch and is open Wednesdays & Saturdays, from 1-4 PM. Victory Outreach

June 26 & June 27:  Victory Outreach Event

Victory Outreach Antioch Church is having a crusade on June 26th and June 27th at Antioch High School.

We are showing two live on stage dramas, one each nite. I have attached our flyer for your review. We will host a car show and bbq on the 26th from 2pm-4pm to the community.

June 27: You Me We = Oakley Citizenship Drive
You, Me, We = Oakley is scheduled to host a Citizenship Drive on Saturday June 27 at Oakley City Hall in order to assist applicants commence in naturalization process to become US Citizens. Participants will be screened for eligibility and have a volunteer fill out their applications and be placed in the appropriate English/Civics exam preparation course.  Celebrate-Antioch2July 4: Celebration Antioch 4th of July Celebration

Join the Celebration Antioch Foundation for a day of celebrating this nations birthday with a downtown parade that begins at 3:00 pm followed by fun at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds with family friendly entertainment including live entertainment, Kidz Zone with rides, car show, craft and food vendors and fireworks.
