Walnut Creek: Firefighters Battle Fatal 2-Alarm Fire in Rossmoor

At 6:21 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire in the 1200 block of Leisure Lane in Rossmoor that left one person dead.

Firefighters arrived on scene of an eight-plex  that was full of smoke and flames.

By 8:39 pm, CONFIRE reported crews were still on scene of the fire which was contained to a single unit, but had displaced 3 other families in the eight-plex building.

Just after 9:00 pm, CONFIRE confirmed that the fire was a fatal fire and was under investigation.  The name and age of the deceased person will not be issued until the Coroner has made contact with the family.

Crews were on scene for 7 hours and 24 minutes and no other information was released.
