Brentwood: Two injured, Including Child, in Suspected DUI Crash on Pine Street

by ECT

At 11:50 am Saturday, the Brentwood Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Pine Street at Brentwood Blvd in the city of Brentwood.

While responding, it was reported that a fight broke out and one subject had pulled out a knife. When police arrived on scene, a male was incoherent and appeared to be under the influence while attempting to walk away from the scene.

According to police, the male driver of the vehicle pulling a trailer was traveling westbound on Pine Street on the wrong side of the road with his wife and child in the vehicle when he struck another vehicle who had turned onto Pine Street from Brentwood Boulevard.

Preliminary information was that it is estimated that the speed both vehicles were traveling at the time of the crash was somewhere between 25-to-35 mph.

Police say no knife was involved as a good Samaritan prevented the male driver from leaving the scene by stopping him. That is when the male driver attempted to reach for a razor blade but before he could pull it out, the good Samaritan grabbed it and threw it away.

The male was taken into custody and transported to a local trauma center for a combination of injuries and not being coherent.

The child, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and the female sustained no injuries. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and did not require medical transport.

Brentwood police are currently investigating the incident and no other information was available.

This is an exact example for the reason one should apply for and get a permit-to-carry a concealed weapon! Then get that weapon! If someone pulls out a knife or razor, you can be ready to stop an idiot from hurting you and your family. Maybe the next time there won’t be a Good Samaritan around to help defuse the situation! Plan for the best! Be prepared for the worst!

You should ship up because it wasn’t a knife or razor it was a tool used to do yard work like pull weeds so why he need a permit for that !

I agree! The drunk started pulling out the knife and when that was taken away from him, he pulled out the razor. The family guy should have had something with which to protect himself and a firearm would do the job.

I never travel anywhere empty-handed. Things are getting worse on the roads. The guy with the trailer needed a firearm if even just to brandish it.
