Although I will be doing a much more detailed post tomorrow with a lot of photographs, I wanted to put out a short video of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Graduation Ceremony. The video shows Battalion Chief Brian Helmick swearing in the 10 newest firefighters who will help protect the District. They have graduated from recruits to probationary firefighters.
According to Chief Henderson, the downtown Brentwood Station will be opening in about 10-days now that these probationary firefighters have passed training.
Here is the video that I have posted on YouTube,
The video below shows ECCFPD Board President Joel Bryant speaking to the recruits at the beginning of the ceremony. Very powerful words coming from Board President Bryant.
The video below shows ECCFPD Chief Hugh Henderson speaking to the recruits at the beginning of the ceremony. He explains how public safety provides care to those in need and how its a lifestyle, not a career.
I have other short videos that I will be uploading this morning but they should all be up by tomorrow. Below is a few of the group shots.

Can’t wait to see all your photos. Thank you for posting the video. Awesome comments by Joel Bryant and Chief Henderson
Great news to all of East Contra Costa County.
They don’t look like union “thugs” to me! Maybe this time we will be smart enough to properly fund the department. Glad to have them aboard, now let’s see if we can keep them.
Great stuff and can’t wait to see more pictures and videos.
