Bay Area Rapid Transit announced Wednesday night that there is a major delay on the Antioch Line after a person on the tracks near the concord Station.
The first alert went out around 5:20 pm. By 7:05 pm, BART personnel with police and fire personnel were working to safely rescue the unauthorized individual on the trackway. Service between Pleasant Hill and Concord has stopped, trains will turn back at both stations mutual aid via routes 11, 14, and 15
7:17 pm Service Alert: There is a major delay on the Antioch Line in the Antioch and SFO directions due to person(s) on the track near Concord station. Service has stopped between Pleasant Hill and Concord stations. Mutual aid is available from Contra Costa County Connections bus number #11, 14 and 15. Bart Police is negotiating with an unstable individual. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Thursday, 3 AM Update
Per BART: The unstable person has been removed from the trackway. They will have normal operations for the morning commute

To the thousands of stranded riders lastnight, we offer our deepest apologies for the major delays. We had a situation on an aerial structure by trackway where an individual amid a mental health crisis needed rescue. We thank our first responders

Major delay, MY A$$! This idiot should have been removed immediately by being TASED and taken down. It took hours and hours to clear those tracks. We were all stuck there! “Inconvenience?” They have to be kidding. What in hell is the matter with our first responders? You get int there, remove the person and stop this nonsense!
